Welcome to the City of Gordon, where friendly and warmhearted citizens welcome visitors and prospects for settlement here in our city.  The City of Gordon, which was established in the 1820's and incorporated in 1885, is located in the geographic center of Georgia.  Gordon is equal distance to two metro areas, Milledgeville and Macon, and have many retail opportunities within our city as well.  Gordon will be within a short distance of the Fall Line Freeway and Highway 441 crossing in 2006 and automobile travel will be at a high convenience.

The Gordon area is increasing its infrastructure capacity in order to serve and attract newcomers to our area.  A state-of-the-art recreation complex has recently been completed.  While Gordon is an older city rich with history, it is a city of opportunity with rail lines, ample utility capacities, major highways and just a twenty minute drive to two large cities.  Gordon is in an active business recruitment mode and recent locations of a kaolin raw material user and an Internet service provider have created jobs for many.

The Gordon area is truly a land of opportunity.
